Don Bosco School, Gumla

Don Bosco Hostel, Gumla had its humble beginning on 1st April 2006. A total of 50 students were given admission in the hostel at the beginning. The number of applications grew gradually and better facilities, infrastructures were added year after year. Students from class V onwards are only admitted in the hostel. The primary aim of starting the hostel is to educate and empower the Christians and the Tribal boys who are economically and socially backward. The method of education in the hostel is based entirely on “Preventive System” taught and practiced by Don Bosco. On 24th May 2006, Br. Joseph Kandulna was put as first hostel in charge to take care of the hostel boys and ever since many confreres have been assigned to take up this noble task. The hostel has capacity for 80 boys. The total number of hostel boys at present is 62. A total of 9 batches have successfully written their ICSE Board Examination and passed out from Don Bosco Hostel, Gumla.
